I first encountered the organization at the 2018 UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Feature Conference hosted by Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania where I also presented a paper.

Comundos gives voice to the voiceless, lets their stories inspire others and creates a precious linkage between remote hopes and dreams. One of the links of this chain are the volunteers Comundos counts on, of which one of them is me, Leyre. As the Volunteer of the Year 2018, I would like to share my experience with Comundos during the last 12 months.

Deutsche Welle’s Global Media Forum is the only international media conference that brings together decision-makers and influencers from the worlds of journalism, digital media, politics, business, civil society and academia. Comundos gave a presentation which was highly appreciated.by the audience on ´ Leveraging technology and media literacy to unlock transversal competences´.

Some didactical material was developed to use the digital stories. The stories can be used as an introduction to start a debate in a classroom / group and work constructively on a theme.

Digital inclusion is today an essential tool in the fight against poverty and for the socio-professional integration of rural youth. Digital inclusion does not only mean having access to the web but knowing how to use it constructively and critically.
