Description2:

Hi I'm Onner Leon, I live in the town of Poptun Peten department. if we destroy our forests we destroy the quality of life of our children.

The deforestation in my department is caused by high population growth, extreme poverty, lack of productive projects, low training people, implementation of monocultures, poor management of livestock production, introduction of exotic plants as African palm, Gmelina arborea, teak and misuse of fossil fuels.

Other factors that affect our quality of life is the lack of family planning, lack of habits in productive projects implementation, which leads to the destruction of our forest because we no longer find to get income.

The use of monoculture that generates degradation, chemicals and waste generation that pollute our rivers, the introduction of pests into our native plants has changed the climate in Peten promoting deforestation.

To make a change and improve our quality of life we must be aware and use the land to develop a stabled in livestock and system crop biodiversity and application of organic products, made with materials that exist in our system, so that the soil can not degrade generating more income. We must preserve our existing forests and reforest areas that were destroyed, protecting our rivers, having a biodiversity of flora and fauna, such as protection of endangered species.
