Secondary School Difficulties

My name is Carlos and I am a second year student in the Agricultural Family School of secondary education in the city of Sucupira do Norte which is 430 kilometres from the town in which I live.
I want to talk here about the terrible secondary school education in my town of Lagoa Grande/MA.

The reason that this is happening is the lack of qualification and commitment on the part of the teachers with regard to the students. It is also due a little to the lack of supervision and discipline on the part of the Education Department.

Each day the students go to school hoping that the teachers will not be absent; but every day there is a lack of teachers and those students waste their time.
A consequence of this deficient education for some of my colleagues and friends, has been the fact of them getting into the world of crime and drugs.
If the teachers were better qualified and committed to going to the school, I would not have to travel 430 kilometres.

And this is where, today, the Agricultural Family School comes in. For the young people in Lagoa Grande it is the solution to getting good quality education.

Studying in a school like this is something very good, because when I became a student there, my way of looking at the world changed completely.

I was of the opinion that human beings were not supportive. Today, I see things differently, because in the AFSs we all help each other.

But the youth in my town who do not have this opportunity are today working in a precarious and at times subservient way.
With this story I am trying to make the public authorities aware that secondary education in my town needs urgently to be improved.
Because we young people have the right to receive quality education.
