Begging youth in Tambacounda, Senegal
Greetings, my name is Toutou Coly. I'm a member of the association APRODEN, which is supported by CONAFE for the protection of children's rights.
Senegal is a small country located in West Africa. One of its large regions, Tambacounda, now has many children on the street in search of food or money.
These begging children are often victims of abuse. They are also exposed to health, physical and moral dangers. These young beggars roam the city streets, garbage dumps and public squares in order to find food.
This reduces their chances of having future opportunities, not to mention their lack of education. Thus, the construction of a shelter in the city is one of our objectives.
Awareness campaigns have been conducted in different areas. Surveys were also conducted in the city, at Koranic schools and in shelters.
The aim was to collect the causes and consequences of this issue and to find possible solutions.
However, a request for help by the State and other Non Governmental Organizations is also strongly requested.
We want to save young people who could be great assets for the development of this country.
A gift for Comundos
Over the years, Comundos has helped remote communities around the world by teaching critical thinking, media literacy and the use of communication technology.
To do this effectively, we need your support for computers, translations, courses and social media management.
Thank you .
